So we attempted some of the Forsaken Thicket raid on 01/03/2016, with mixed success.
In the first part of the raid, we came up against 3 mini-bosses, each presenting a very different and challenging fight; The Green, Red and Blue Guardians.
- The Green Guardian can be beaten with a well coordinated, heavy DPS fight. It will create several blue portals periodically which randomly teleport struck players. Best to dodge these portals.
- The Red Guardian can only be damaged by conditions and will take absolutely 0 damage from anything else. It summons several red orbs which float around and deal heavy damage. Knockbacks can push the orbs away.
- The Blue Guardian will periodically buff himself with Invulnerability, which must be countered with boon removals. It also frequently summons a lightning strike that you can not avoid. The strike's damage can be mitigated for the entire group if 3 players run to a green circle that spawns.
After consulting the wiki and debating strategies, we decided the best course of action was the Leeroy the first Guardian!
This failed spectacularly of course, prompting us to make a proper raid group with Tank, Healer & DPS roles. Afterwards we were able to beat the 3 mini-bosses with relative ease. We still need to work on the composition of our raid group, as the next stage is the 1st legendary boss. It absolutely destroyed us.
- The Vale Guardian combines the abilities of all of the lesser Guardians. I'm pretty sure this includes their health as well, because we didnt even make a dent in its HP bar. The most challenging part was trying to make it to the green circle in time.
For future raid attempts, we need to be more organised, and people need to understand their role in the raid group or we'll just wipe again.
- 1 Tank, 2-3 Healers, 6-7 DPS.
- Level 80 Exotics (Minimum).
- Tank needs to hold aggro away from other players.
- Healers focus on the tank, while the other players focus on the green circle & dps.
If you are interested in doing the raid with us, let me know.
